Earlier this year I had a chance meeting with a beautiful soul name Jennifer Gifford. Turns out she is an amazing wedding gown designer and we had a lot in common- you know when you meet someone and it feels like you’ve known them forever?
We were actually chatting about other things when Jen mentioned her idea for a Bridal Showcase with a difference.
Yes, we all have the preconceived idea of that kind of bridal expo atmosphere where vendors are in the ‘hard sell’ mode and brides & grooms have the startled look in their eyes of being completely overwhelmed.
Jen’s idea was to have a themed venue for couple to come and look at a whole picture for their wedding at their leisure without being pressured; if they wanted to meet a particular vendor then an introduction could be made.
A selected group of wedding vendors who service the Byron Bay area would be divided into teams to work together to fit a styled brief. These wedding photographers, stylists, florists, cake makers, caterers, stationers, hair & makeup artists were selected based on their ability to compliment each other.
Wow! What a concept!
This was my kind of event!
I have always believed that there is enough work out there for all and I always look at the big picture.
Clients will be drawn to different people for different reasons and that’s OK- you can’t be all things to all people.
So back to the Bridal Showcase… teams were formed, lots of meetings over many coffees were held and it all came together with an amazing 2 days late July at the Ewingsdale Hall, Byron Bay.
These images were taken on the first day of the showcase and I think capture the essence of the event.
A huge thanks to all who made the Byron Bay Bridal Showcase so fabulous, and in particular the fabulous Jennifer Gifford for her vision & energy in making this happen. (Love you to bits Jen!)
Take a look at these fabulous people who can help you with your wedding day!
